Keith Hernandez's stache must have Ari Gold type pull in Hollywood because there's no way he gets on Seinfeld without it. They needed a mid 90s confident baseball players for the part, and as we all know, you couldn't look confident, manly, or handsome in the 90s without a classically shaped, full mustache.
