Athlete of the Day---Wolf "the Dentist" Stansson

Wolf Stansson, in case you haven't been brushing up on your Mighty Ducks history, is the coach of team Iceland at the Goodwill Games in D2. He's known as the dentist because he knocks people's fucking blocks off. He was a star in the NHL until he punched out his coach and was banned from the league and deported (a little harsh I think). He's also known for slashing Bombay's ACL in a game of one on one. He's such a classic villain for the 90s because, like many European bad guys in movies, he has blond hair blue eyes and speaks with a scary German or Russian accent. Smells like either an Aryan Nazi or a Soviet Commi to me. Stansson and team Iceland do not prevail at the Goodwill games. He tried to place the blame all on Gunner Stahl (Iceland's hall of fame middle school hockey player) when he says "Gunner, you lost it for me" but Gunner replies "You lost it for yourself." Boom. Hammer dropped. Anyway, the dentist basically got bent over a desk in this movie, plus he still owes Bombay a beach ball.

PS, aren't team Icelands uniforms like identical to the Hawks? How bout some variety Disney

PPS, I thought Bombay said Gunner was going to do a triple deke to the glove side. All he did was switch the puck back and forth and then pull up from 20 feet. What an horrible and ineffective move. I thought this kid was fancy Bombay. When has anyone ever pulled up from deep on a penalty shot? haha

And The Reggie for Best Sports Personality of the Year Goes to...

Tony Kornheiser. This was extremely close. Tony won with 45% of the votes, Kenny Mayne had 40%, Woody Paige got 15%, and Josh Elliot and Jim Rome got 0%. Everyone loves Kornheiser. He's funny, kinda controversial, and smart.

Speech:
"fuck ESPN Deportes and fuck Mike Golic. Thank you"

Short and sweet.

Worst Halftime Show Ever?

This year's halftime show at the All Star game was fucking terrible. The only halftime show in the history of sports that was worse was definitely the Jonas Brothers in Detroit for Thanksgiving in 2008 when the Lions laid an egg. Those prepubescent faggots were so bad that the Detroit fans were booing them. Back to last night. Shakira didn't even try to hide the fact that she was lip syncing. Its like people don't even care about it anymore. I remember back in the late 90s when people thought Britney Spears was lip syncing and it was like the talk of the town. Now music is so littered with synthesizers and shit that we don't even bother criticizing people for it because all those dance songs would sound horrible if someone actually sang them. After that, Alicia "shouldn't have had dessert before the show" Keys (thanks W.M) tried to actually sing and failed miserably. She sounded like a deaf girl who might have good voice she just can't hear it and therefore is way the fuck off key. When she started singing "Empire State of Mind" I thought maybe the show could be saved if Jay-Z came flying in from the ceiling or something, but he didn't. The Chorus's of rap songs are not real fucking songs and shouldn't be performed at halftime of a major sporting event. Period. Plus she looked fat as shit With the exception of the All Star game itself, the weekend was a huge disappointment for me. The dunk contest was the worst since Brent Barry won it in 1996, Paul Pierce won the 3 point shoot out with a mediocre performance, and the highlight of the night from the Rookie Challenge was a fucking Tyreke Evans lay up.

Well we now know that Dwight Howard can drain threes like Mark Price, Dwayne Wade and Bron play awesome together, and Tim Duncan is way too boring for All Star games (actually we already knew that). When you can get 108,000 people to watch the All Star game at the biggest stadium in the world, you would think that they could have at least gotten like the Black Eyed Peas or even just Jay-Z to perform one fucking song with Alicia Keys.

Athlete of the Day---Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez

Benny "the Jet" Rodriguez owned Southern California sandlot baseball in the 1950s. I don't know how a little kid could be that fucking dominant. Here's a scenario for you. Smalls didn't know how to catch a baseball because Dennis Leary is a fucking dick of a step dad. Benny and his crew needed another player to have 9, but smalls was just too much of an uncoordinated square to be included in their games. Benny, determined to teach smalls how to catch, decided to showcase his ridiculous talent. Apparently, Benny has Peyton Manning-like accuracy with a bat because he told smalls to just stand there, hold his glove up, and that he'd take care of the rest. You better believe he put that ball right in smalls' glove, and that single event somehow taught him how to catch, throw, and hit like a little league all-star. The jet went on to the majors and pulled of a legit heist of home plate with smalls delivering one of the greatest calls in sports history.

"They say the Jet's lost a step or two, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some fireworks here.
The Jet's got a suicide lead and...AND THERE HE GOES! HE'S STEALING HOME I DON'T BELIEVE IT HE'S STEALING HOME! HE'S STEALING HOME, AND THEY DON'T SE HIM! THE PITCH! HE HITS THE DIRT! HE'S SAFE! SAFE! OH MY GOD SAFE SAFE SAFE! I DON'T BELIEVE IT! THE JET STOLE HOME! THE JET STOLE HOME!

I Don't Know if I Can Get Over This

If you've been looking at my site since it started then you know that I hate Josh Howard with a burning passion. He's the biggest fucking IDIUT on the planet, and my Wizards just acquired him in a trade. I knew the Wiz were going to get rid of Caron Butler. The thing I didn't know was that they were going to trade Caron for the poor man's version of Caron. The no effort on D, terrorist, stain of a person version of Caron. It's obvious that the Wizards are in abandon ship mode right now, but you don't go signing a fragile, America hating disgrace of an English speaking person. Then the Wiz go and get bent over a chair by Mark Cuban who wouldn't make the deal without Brendan Haywood. The Wizards wanted Rodrique Beaubois from the Mavs, but Cuban wouldn't part with him. That just shows how fucking weak the Wizards organization is. Way to settle dudes.

PS, way to bring a terrorist to DC. Smart move. I bet Obama doesn't come to anymore Wizards games, and If he does I guarantee you Secret Service checks Howards' shoes for bombs.

My First Apology

I would like the apologize to the Richmond Arachnids basketball team and their fans. If you know me, then you know who asked me to do this. Richmond has been dominant this year, and have handled business against Florida, Temple, Missouri, Mississippi State, and Rhode Island. They're really taking advantage of their tough schedule this year and are a lock for the tournament, unlike my Heels. I've been to a bunch of Richmond games so I'm a fan. I was just trying to get rich by betting on Rhode Island to beat them, and that backfired.

Quote of the Day

"Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious." - Charles Shackleford

Under water, on land, in a tree, it don't matter. He's a fucking retard.

And the Reggie for the Ruined Career of the Year Goes to...

Gilbert Arenas! Gil has successfully gone from being in my top 5 favorite athletes list to being in the bottom 5. He has sabotaged the Wizards for the last 3 years, and if they can't dump his 100,000,000 dollar contract, they'll be ruined for another couple years. I'm a little surprised that he won with 71% of the votes. Tiger was 2nd with 19%, Jamarcus was 3rd with 9%, and Serena and Manny had 0 votes.

Speech:
"Yeah I'd like to thank Smith &Wesson, Remington, Colt, Glock, Beretta. God I'm just so excited I hope I didn't forget anybody. Thank you to all the people who voted for me this is a huge honor. I can end my career now because I won a Reggie."

Tears and music and his career is DONE! Book closed.

Athletes of the Day---The Jamaican Bobsled Team

What do you get when you cross the best pushcart driver (whatever the fuck that is) in Jamaica, three Olympic caliber sprinters, and John Candy? Only the greatest Cinderella story in the history of the Olympics (sorry Mike Eruzione). In light of the Winter Olympics, the Athletes of the Day are Sanka Coffie, Junior Bevil, Yul Brenner, and Derice Bannock. Yeah the dudes from Cool Runnings. It's an incredible story. To start with 0 experience, training with a pushcart (again whatever that is), having no money, getting shit talked to them by that Swiss faggot, and having a fucking clunker of a sled, to winning the greatest moral victory in the history of sports is just remarkable. I mean you're watching these guys try to make money by singing a song, arm wrestling, and kissing chicks, and you're just like psh no fuckin way are they getting out of Jamaica. Then Junior sells his Jag and the tables turn. Bobsledding would never be the same. The Jamaican bobsled team has actually had some success internationally beating the United States of America, Russia, and France in the '94 Olympics. They haven't been back since then, go figure, but they made there mark in history.

Quote of the Day

"I don't really consider it manning up until you play me straight up. I've never doubled anybody. So you tell me who the real Superman is. Don't compare me to nobody." - Shaq

Shaq has always seemed a little jealous of Dwight's nickname of Superman, but I mean Shaq has like 76 nicknames. Most of which were made up by him. So Shaq, I'm a huge fan, but chill with the egomania, and let the dude have one fucking nickname.

PS, Shaq Fu (pictured above) would kick Superman's ass any day, any time, anywhere.

Athlete of the Day---Becky "the Icebox" O'Shea

Who says girls can't play middle linebacker? Heisman trophy winning pee wee football coach Kevin O'Shea does, that's who. I could never figure out his logic though. I mean she knocked that fat kid with the PB&J in his helmet out fucking cold. Everyone knows girls are bigger than dudes at that age anyway, so why wouldn't O'Shea want her out there knocking little guys' heads off. Nobody wants to see that mack truck cheerleading anyway. Her career went on hiatus when she got a crush on stud QB Junior Floyd, portrayed by that former "heart throb" turned former actor from Final Destination. She dabbled in cheerleading until Hall of Fame, someone check his birth certificate, runningback Spike Hammersmith takes out Junior after the play was over. It was time for the Icebox to suit up. Long story short, she hits Spike like Sean Taylor (RIP) hit that punter in the Pro Bowl, that geek calls "the annexation of Puerto Rico," Giants win, and Danny O'Shea gets the water tower changed to "home of the O'Shea Brothers." "Stick a fork in em baby they're done" - Kevin O'Shea

Quote of the Day- 100th Post

"I saw what the governor makes. That's like four hands of blackjack."
-- Charles Barkley on why he wasn't seriously considering becoming the governor of Alabama

You got to love Sir Charles. The guy loves to talk NBA, play golf, gamble a ton, drink, and get DUI's while getting road dome. What's not to like? I was lucky enough to be in the Bahamas at the same time as the Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Invitational my senior year in high school. Surprisingly, the highlight of my trip wasn't getting plastered at Club Waterloo while watching wet t-shirt contests, it was strolling through the Casino right past a table with Jordan and Barkley playing multiple hands of black-jack with $5,000 chips stacked to the sky. Dark Lord willing that will be me someday.

How Fucking Good is Dell Curry's Son?

Steph Curry, in 48 minutes, put himself in more elite company than the Hall of Fame. Only Michael Jordan, Jason Kidd, the logo Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, and Elgin Baylor have had at least 35 points 10 rebs and 10 assists in a game as a rookie. Those are the best statistical players ever. Oscar Robertson is the most overlooked superstar in any sport ever. Brace yourselves. As a ROOKIE, he averaged 30.5 points 9.7 assists and 10.1 rebounds. WHAT? Oh, and in his second year he averaged 31 points 11.4 assists and 12.5 rebounds. If you slice those numbers in half, you're still an all star. By the way, he was 6'5" and was a shooting guard. Back to Steph. He's like 6'2" with platform shoes on and is relatively unathletic, but he has the one of the highest basketball IQs in the game. He knows where to be at all times on offense and defense. His stroke isn't as smooth as silk; silk is as smooth as his stroke. Monta Ellis has probably spent the whole day crying and talking to his agent trying to figure out how to get the fuck out of San Fransisco. With Curry running the show, the Warriors boned the struggling Clippers. Murder in hippie city. It was like the men of the UConn women's basketball team playing against the real girls on all the other teams. The Warrior's trainers are, at this moment, devising a plan to injure Monta even more. Who wants that cocky ball-hogging virus back now? If Stephen Curry doesn't finish in the top 2 in rookie of the year voting, then he's being discriminated against for being almost white. Good luck in the 3 point contest to anyone not named Steph because honestly they don't stand a chance.

World Domination 101: Step 1

Yesterday, USA hoops announced that Kobe, Dwade, and Lebron have committed to the US National Team team for the 2012 Olympics. With this move, the core of the 2008 Gold Medal Team remains intact and the chances of back-to-back golds is basically 100%. The only players from the Redeem Team not returning are Jason Kidd, Tayshaun Prince, and Michael Redd- Thanks for the service but you've been voted off the island in favor of dominant young talent.

Even though the core of the 2008 team is back, the roster and the guys who see playing time come 2012 could be different than the team who took gold in Beijing . Team USA basketball invites 27 players to join their national team roster for the three years leading up to the Olympics. Through summer tournaments and other international competitions the 27 player roster eventually gets cut down to the best 12 who travel to London. Over the course of the three years a lot can change and players who you think are mortal locks now could lose the desire to play every summer for the next three years, especially those who are getting up in there in age.

The 27 players auditioning for a guaranteed spot atop the medal stand are:
Guards:
Chauncey Billups (33)
Kobe Bryant (31)
Kevin Durant (21)
Eric Gordon (21)
OJ Mayo (22)
Chris Paul (24)
Derrick Rose (21)
Dwayne Wade (28)
Russel Westbrook (21)
Deron Williams (25)
Forwards/Centers:
LaMarcus Aldridge (25)
Carmelo Anthony (26)
Carlos Boozer (29)
Chris Bosh (26)
Rudy Gay (24)
Danny Granger (26)
Dwight Howard (25)
Andre Iguodala (26)
Lebron James (25)
Al Jefferson (25)
David Lee (26)
Brook Lopez (21)
Kevin Love (21)
Lamar Odom (30)
Kendrick Perkins (26)
Amare Stoudemire (28)
Gerald Wallace (28)

My ONE complaint about this roster: Where the fuck is BRANDON ROY? If I were him I would be losing my mind. This kind of snub is like London Fletcher not making the Pro Bowl after leading the NFL in tackles for the last decade, it should be a crime.

Anyways, If you haven't figured it out already, this team is gonna be stacked. Every player is either the face of a franchise or an amazing role player with lots of intangibles. Got to love intangibles. The other thing that sticks out is how young these guys are. The average age of the team right now is 25. In three years when they head to London with their minds set on world domination most of these guys will be in their basketball "prime". I'm talking, Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Paul, Dwight, Melo, Deron Williams. That's scary. Not to mention all the young guns we have in the league right now emerging as potential stars: Eric Gordon,Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook, Klove, David Lee, Danny Granger, OJ, and Derrick Rose to name a few. Of course there will be a few vets on the team (Kobe and my sleeper, Gerald Wallace) to anchor the young guns, but if it was my call I'd go as young as I can. If you're bordering 30 or over it (Boozer, Perkins, Amare, Lamar, Chauncey), good luck making this team. Get these young dudes experience so we can win gold for eons to come; they are the future.
If this were my team, my roster would be as follows:
PG- Chris Paul
SG- Kevin Durant
SF- Lebron James
PF- Chris Bosh
C- Dwight Howard
**This lineup can be tweaked depending on opponents: So many combos available depending on matchups its scary. Basically, the rest of the world is fucked no matter what.
Bench:
PG Derrick Rose or Eric Gordon
PG Deron Williams
SG Dwade
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Carmelo Anthony
PF David Lee (obligatory white dude, plus he's dirty)
F- Danny Granger or Kevin Love (depending on if you want scoring or straight hustle play)

It will be hard for Coach K and his cabinet to find the right mix to take to London, but either way, this team should cake walk its way to Olympic Gold. The talent pool for this go round is deeper and younger. Every position has a star backing up a superstar. Its what I like to call a potent mix, kind of like a marine in an avatar body.
They open up play this summer with the FIBA World Championships in Turkey. The draw has placed us in a group with Brazil, Croatia, Iran, Slovenia and Tunisia. Sucks for them. I didn't know they were even allowed to play basketball in Iran, fucking fundamentalists. I'm looking forward to watching this team play and come together over the next three years; this much talent hasn't been involved with USA basketball since the original Dream Team.

PS- Can we bring back these uniforms, please?
PPS- What up Penny?

POLLS CLOSE AT 6 THIS EVENING SO FUCKING VOTE!

Then tell all your friends to get on and vote. I've only gotten 17 votes so far for each award. I'd like some more.

If You're Into Gettin Rich

Since I went 3 for 3 last night I figured I'd ride the hot streak. If you want to add to the millions you made last night, go with these picks.

Georgia Tech +1 against Miami. Is Vegas serious here? Miami 2-7 in the ACC losing by an average of like 12 points. Yeah GT has been struggling a little lately but there's no fucking way you pass up a +1 spread against a team that's 2-7 in conference play. I'll make you the IDIUT of the week if you do.

Next you go NBA with the Bobcats -2.5 against the T Wolves. The Bobcats had lost 4 straight before beating my Wiz last night. Thats a quality win in my book. Look for them to win by double digits because the Wolves have 0 game outside of the paint with the exception of Wayne Ellington but he goes no love from Rambis.

Break the fucking bank by taking Baylor -2.5 against Nebraska. Nebraska is 1-7 in Big 12 play and everyone knows they're working on building a time machine so they can go back to the mid 90s when they were actually good at a sport. hint: it still wasn't basketball.

Extra Credit:
If a money line comes out on the Richmond v Rhode Island game, take Rhode Island they're fucking 19-3 and get no love from the polls. It's a home game too. Feel free to take them at -5.5 if no moneyline comes out, but don't quote me on that one. AKA if you lose you can't blame it on Sports Jesus

The word of the Lord

Quote of the Day

"You can make a lot of money in this game. Just ask my ex-wives. Both of them are so rich that neither of their husbands work." - Lee Trevino

Hilariousness comes out of the "the merry mex's" mouth when he breathes.

Athlete of the Day---Ricky "The Wild Thing" Vaughn

1989's Major League is not only one of the best sports movies I have ever seen, but it is also one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The cast is brilliant which includes Tom Berenger as Jake Taylor, Wesley Snipes as Willie Mays Hayes, and of course Charlie Sheen as the Wild Thing. How Charlie Sheen's real name is Carlos Estevez I will never know because he doesn't look fucking Mexican to me. Never the less, his character in Major League is hilarious. Vaughn is the young, radical gunslinging pitcher for the Cleveland Indians. One of the more memorable quotes from the film occurs when he shows up to spring training and Hayes asks Vaughn,

"What the hell league have you been playing in?"
"California Penal."
"Never heard of it. Howd you end up there?"
"Stole a car."

The Wild Thing's actions on the field are dangerously close to resembling an earlier Sports on the Reg Athlete of the Day John Rocker and this is why we love him.

Rick Vaughn: Oh, kiss my ass!
Umpire: You're gone!
Rick Vaughn: You're full of shit! Fuck you!
Umpire: Get outta here, rookie!
Rick Vaughn: Oh, why don't you blow me ump?

If you haven't seen the movie Major League I highly suggest you do. It still gives me chills when Vaughn comes out as the closer in the ALCS with the song Wild Thing blaring on the loud speakers.

If You're Into Gettin Rich

If you're in the mood for making millions of dollars without working then heed my advice. Here are my 100% lockdown guaranfuckintees for tonight's basketball games.

Take the Nets +16 in Cleveland. Yeah the Cavs are going to bone the nets so hard it'll look like the first matchup between the the Eden Hall varsity squad and the freshmen Ducks in D3. Varsity had Banksy for that one though. The Cavs will have a 20 point lead early in the 4th and pull the starters allowing the Nets to cut it to like 10 and make it look like they didn't just get fucked.

Take Georgetown -5 against Providence. Ignore the fact that the Hoyas lost to South Florida and look at how bad they made Villanova look on Saturday. Plus, Greg Monroe is the next Tim Duncan.

Bet your life and a loved one's that Kentucky doesn't cover the 15.5 point spread against Bama. No fucking way. Kentucky really doesn't blow teams out that much this year because they're so young and immature.

Sports Bloopers

Thanks to the people that have followed and been enthuiastic about our SportsOnTheReg blog. Hope you enjoy this video! And watch the diving soccer fan one closely, it is my personal favorite.

Quote of the Day

“When you get that nice celebration coming into the dugout and you’re getting your ass hammered by guys—there’s no better feeling than to have that done.” -Matt Stairs

The last part of this quote is like the icing on an already awesome cake.

Get Your Dancin Shoes We're Going to the NIT

So the Heels are probably NIT bound for the first time in the Roy Williams era. Sweet. I think Roy would rather spend a few weeks in a POW camp than have the embarrassment of having the defending national champions play in that fucking JV tournament. If the NCAA tournament is "the big dance" then the NIT is like one of those dances your church puts on the same night as prom for the fucking losers who couldn't find a date or didn't get invited. Everyone there is bitter as fuck and to make matters worse, the chaperones try to make it cool by playing clean versions of rap songs even though you're not allowed to dance with anyone in a sexual manner. Like the NCAA tries to make the NIT seem big time by putting games on tv even though nobody watches them. They should make playing games on tv optional and teams should have the option to not accept a trophy for winning. If Carolina plays and wins I guarantee they don't want to bring a trophy back to school to put in the trophy case. That's just embarrassing. Roy would probably "accidentally" drop it off a 10 story building. I wonder if you can deny an invitation to play like you can turn down a shitty bowl game in college football. That would be the route I would take. I don't think Roy wants this season to extend any longer than he has to. In fact, I think he would just call it quits now if he could. Actually, judging by his latest press conference, he already has.

I-D-I-U-T of the week---Clinton Portis

The Washington Post

Clinton Portis just can't keep his fucking mouth shut. He was on the NFL Network recently talking some shit. He was asked what has changed about the Denver Clinton Portis to the Clinton Portis of today. He basically said that he was happy in Denver because of the people around him blah blah blah, then he drops this fucking bomb, "LaVar Arrington was the man in D.C. when I arrived, and all of the sudden LaVar felt like it was competition, and he left D.C. He didn't want to be in D.C. any more. He gave back $15, 20 million to leave D.C., because he felt like he wasn't the main money guy." What is the point of coming up with shit like that on TV? The guy is a retired legend. Not only is that a reckless comment, but it also has absolutely nothing to do with the question. LaVar, being the fucking man, responded by saying, "ok to my twitter fam im going to take a vote and this will determine how i respond to this FOOL, clinton portis said i basically left DC because he came to town and was the man-alrighty then so my question to u all is should i A-TEAR HIM UP ON THE SHOW ON MON B-JUST CALL IT AS I SEE AND EXPLAIN WITH NO MALICE OR C-NOT EVEN ADDRESS IT- look im a grown man should i respond to my childs comments or not...ITS HARD FOR ME TO GET MAD AT A CLUELESS PERSON I WILL PRAY FOR HIM AND I WILL HAVE SOME WORDS ABOUT HIS COMMENTS ON MONDAYS SHOW SO BE READY." Although this was a Twitter post, it's still awesome. Arrington still runs DC. Plus even if he did leave because Portis was getting paid more, that's still better than sticking around and being a fucking incurable virus. Just go away and stop talking shit about Redskin legends just because people like them.

Athlete of the Day---Joseph Forte

Joseph Forte wasn't just a good college basketball player. He was a great one. He led an offensively challenged Tar Heel team to the Final Four in 2000 when they probably didn't even deserve to be in the tournament. In his two years at UNC he averaged 19 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists and 2 steals. I find it strange that he never became anything in the NBA. In two seasons he averaged 1 point per game. He found himself jobless after he was arrested for gun possession (how original) and assault when he punched some dude during a pick-up game. I can forgive that second one. I mean what self respecting man presses charges over a punch in a pick-up game? That's just not in our DNA. You hit him back then settle it on the court not in court.

In 2005 he headed to Europe and has had decent success statistically, but because of his thuggery, he can't stay with one team. He's played for 6 teams in less than 5 years. How the fuck is that even possible?

Ovie and the Caps make it 14 Straight

(Torque on the Reg)

I don't claim to know much about hockey and I don't even really watch it until the playoffs, but this has been going on too long to be ignored. The Washington Capitals have won 14 straight games dating back to Jan. 12. That's pretty fucking impressive. It pains me to acknowledge all this too because I think its pathetic that the best thing going in D.C. right now is hockey and not football. (I can't thank the Redskins enough for another season of mind numbing pain and embarrassment.)

It's pretty amazing to see how much the city has gotten behind the team since the arrival of Alex Ovechkin a few years back. Every time I flip to one of their games on T.V. the Verizon center is packed and the place is rocking. Fans who braved the winter storm last night to see Ovie duel it out with hated rival Sidney Crosby witnessed a great game. The game looked terrible from the start for the Caps, down 4-1 at one point in the 2nd period. Crunch time came around and Ovie took over. He finished with a hat trick and also assisted on the game winner in OT. Cap's fans would have been livid had they ended the win streak with a loss to the Penguins. Sid the Kid was nowhere to be found, scoring his two goals in the first when nothing was one the line. I blame his lack of closing ability on the fact that he's Canadian, and well, all Canadians are bitches.

I'd argue that Alex Ovechkin is the greatest Russian athlete to walk American soil since Ivan "I must break you" Drago. (minus the steroids and getting tooled by Rocky.) The dude is a machine. He leads the league in scoring (42 goals, 3 more than Crosby) and total points (86, 12 more than Crosby) He's brash and doesn't care what people think about him; all he cares about is being the best fucking player on the planet, and he isn't afraid to let you know about it. You're allowed to be cocky when your good. Ovechkin even took a page out of Drago's book last night, knocking this tool from the Penguins to the ground with one punch then pinned him to the ice for a few followup shots. Good Form.

The Cap's own the best record in hockey at 41-12-6. They will try to extend their streak to 15 in a row when they take on the 28-26-6 Canadiens north of the border Wednesday. I'll
be interested to see how long they can keep this going.

Quote of the Day

“I swear to God I’ll fucking take this ball and shove it down your fucking throat! Do you hear me? I swear to God. You better be glad–you better be fucking glad that I’m not, I swear.” -Serena Williams

I will laugh at this quote for as long as I live. I loved her post match interview just as much. She was like I've never been in a fight in my life. Why would she feel threatened? Uhhh well she was a little Asian lady and you're the most muscular woman in all of sports. Truthfully, I would be terrified if this happened to me. Probably wouldn't have been as calm as that line judge, but then again I'm not Asian.

Who Dat!? Part Deux

If you visit this site you damn well better have watched the Colts Saints Super Bowl match up last night. Although I was rooting for the Colts because I drool at the mouth watching Peyton play and think he will go down as the best quarterback in history, I am not too disappointed with the outcome. The Saints were the better TEAM last night and its hard not to admire the gutsy playcalling of Sean Payton (even though he looks like a scumbag). When the Saints went up by 7 in the fourth quarter I was not worried at all and kept telling my friends that it was "Manning's time to shine." Unfortunately I was wrong. Despite Peyton's game-changing mistake last night, I still think that he is a much better quarterback than Drew Brees. I think Brees is a great quarterback but the Saint's offense is a machine and a good one at that. However, without Peyton Manning the Colts would have been 4-12 team and you can't say the same about Brees and the Saints. Unfortunately for me, the better team won the Super Bowl last night and they deserved to.

I was one of the few Colts fans watching the game and it was annoying as fuck listening to my drunk friends screaming "Who Dat!?" like a bunch of retards after every first down. Overall, the Super Bowl didn't disappoint. I credit this to a great evening with friends, natty light bottles, and 300 B Dubs spicy chicken wings.

Athlete of the Day---Drew Brees

I guess I have to do a player from the game last night. I thought about doing Hank Baskett for dropping that onside kick. I mean he's a receiver who the Colts picked up for special teams purposes after he got cut from the Eagles. Goodluck with the job hunt Hank. Anyway, I have to do Drew Brees because he had a sweet game. At one point in the game he was 7/12 passing and looking pretty JV. Well he made the varsity squad when he completed 25 of his next 27 passes. The fact that he's such an unbelievably accurate passer blows my mind considering he's like 6 feet tall in cleats and can't see the middle of the field over the offensive line. There's not much else that I can say about the guy. He's good as shit, and despite being painfully northern, he seems like a good dude.

PS, haha how did Calton Banks get into this party? I guess hosting a game show on GSN gives you some real pull in Hollywood.

PPS, I 100% lockdown guarantee you that Brees called him Calton and asked him to do the dance. That sort of fame is something you just can't shake
